Nazism and jew persecutionA serious topicThis month I feel like talking a little about nazism and jew persecution. I don't claim to be an expert, and therefore this page only reflects my own personal opinions. It's my hope that you will write (no matter whether you agree or disagree), and in this way we will be able to establish a debate on these pages. With your permission I will put any replies up on this page underneath my original text. Don't feel shy - just write! So, what's nazism all about? Nazism, racism and anti-Semitism are closely connected. Very basically, it's the strong belief, that "my own race is better than any other race". From
this follows, that any other race than one's own, is less worthy of support from the society, succes, jobs... yes, of LIFE ITSELF. What makes nazism so dangerous is their history. They have proven what they are capable of, given enough power and control. And these horrific acts of violence and murder are so unbelieveable for the rest of society, that it's... well, unbelieveable really. More and more young people think, that what took place during World War II, really didn't happen. And once you forget history, it WILL repeat. Many organisations are dedicated to telling and helping the world to remember the story of what really happened during World War II. Below I have listed a few links to good sites. Just before I end, I would like to ask another question. This one's about Israel, and what is happening there right now: The jews have always been a persecuted people and they have rarely owned their own country in history. Why then is it, that once they GET their own country, they start harassing the Palestineans? The Palestineans had lived in Palestine for thousands of years. No wonder, they got a little annoyed when their country was suddently named Israel. Haven't Israel with all it's power and financial strength learnt anything about peaceful coexistence? Let's hope they have. I recommend reading "Sartre: Anti-Semite & Jew". It's great reading, and Sartre takes not only a closer look at the anti-Semite, but also at the jew, and his historical dilemmas.
