Sister
The house rises behind the fence, a big grey block of concrete full of empty holes
We sneak in and run across the fine gravel in the driveway
all the time fearing the dogs
that we cannot see
but with an invisible presence nevertheless
Accusing us for crossing the line between everyday life and the unreal
and disturbing the stoic calm of the house
Undisturbed for 20 years and with a distinct taste of secrets and adventure
Behind the walls is all we have ever been
and with rooms reserved for what we will once become
Threatening and luring at the same time, it calls for us with it's silence
and we have no choice but to follow
When we passed the gate of wrought iron
and stepped into a world where our feet don't touch the ground
we sealed our fates
We run up to the high wall
Up close the house seems even bigger
and we can't look through the windows
only sense the greyish-green cool of the wall and the moisture against our hands
We don't dare to use the front door out of fear of losing everything
now that we have come so close to solving our riddle
Why are we here?
We don't know, but still we feel
that the house contains the answer to our search
A result only few can sense and maybe a pressure of all the possibilities that were never used
Like the life-long experiences of a parallel existence
Who's to say that this isn't actually what we are searching for?
All the things we didn't have time to do
or wasn't done for us
The house used to be raised on poles, like a giant at sea
and isolated from even the best intruder
but now the ground has been raised and the grass covers the last remaining pieces of wood
with a wavy, almost sea-like presence
It happened a few years ago
but we had not discovered it until now
We run around the corner
Grey
With the full use of our limited senses we feel the house's huge size
a short glimpse of infinity
and panting we have to grasp the wall
Here we now feel the duality of the house - the final separation between life and death
leaving an infinity of states
but at the same time with a unambiguous order
We have to get in
But how?
How is it possible to get pass the rejecting shell of the house
and reach the inner life we gradually get more and more convinced
is the final goal of our search?
High above us the window frames stare
Like silent guns they see all that approaches
but not us, for we are below them
With our escape from the house and to it, we have passed the lines of defence
and standing on each other's shoulders we reach the window sill
and the window has to reveal it's secret
Like a flower opening, the contents are brought before our eyes
and we have to squint them not to cry
The outer leaves - a green orgy with spots of yellow
The inner leaves - cascades of red with white foam and the sparkling of diamonds
And finally a glimpse of crystal purity and we see the innermost
We have entered and are now a part of the house's magical universe
with unlimited possibilities and events never happened
The room is full of people
who we have never ever met, but still know very well
As if hidden in plastic they move around
not noticing that they only exist here at the border between infinity and everything else
Silent- yes, speechless - we see all the things
that could have been
and the eyes stop in their search for meaning
One of the persons is looking at us
With eyes black and full of stars
She stands up and the plastic breaks in a sparkling cloud
She moves towards us
and it feels like the house sighs and settles again
even though her feet don't touch the ground
Where does the dreams and opportunities stop?
Is it where the reality starts, or is there a place in-between?
A place where the two incompatible unite to create the miracle?
Out through the window we help the sister, we have never had
